Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tap dance, jazz dance and other styles and experience working with children. This role involves educating students in various dance styles, fostering a love for movement, and creating a positive learning environment. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for developing lesson plans, leading classes, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Responsibilities

• Teach dance techniques and choreography to students of varying skill levels.
• Develop engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and student interests.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
• Organize and participate in performances, and other events to showcase student achievements.
• Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with other instructors to enhance the overall dance program.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and class activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience teaching group tap classes
• Willingness to teach a variety of ages & levels
• Certification from a teaching association (ex P.A.E.C, I.S.T.D, C.D.T.A) or relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Minimum of 2 references from former teachers or students
• Professional performance experience is an asset
• Teachers will be required to provide/obtain a current vulnerable sector policebackground check

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 11 per week
