Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Data Center Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and supporting our data centre infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in computer networking, telecommunication, and electrical systems to develop their career within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Ethernet cabling.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of CCTV systems, VoIP telecommunication setups, and other data centre hardware.
- Assist with network installation projects, ensuring adherence to schematics and technical specifications.
- Perform equipment repair and maintenance on servers, switches, routers, and other hardware components using hand tools.
- Support electrical systems related to data centre operations, including wiring and circuit troubleshooting.
- Document network configurations, schematics, and system layouts accurately for future reference.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues swiftly while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience with computer networking concepts such as Ethernet, Cisco routers, VoIP systems, and network installation procedures.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunication systems including CCTV, Avaya systems, and schematics interpretation.
- Practical skills in equipment repair, electrical work, and the use of hand tools.
- Familiarity with Juniper network devices and general computer hardware maintenance.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics effectively.
- Experience working within a data centre or similar environment is desirable.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Relevant electrical or telecommunication qualifications are advantageous but not essential. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute to a high-performance data centre environment while expanding their technical expertise in networking and telecommunications.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
