My name is Jimmy and I own and operate a delivery business that is gaining more local work. I am seeking one helper for occasional delivery jobs in and near the Kalamazoo area. Work will be infrequent initially but having reliable help may lead to more jobs and more regular work.

You will be start by working directly with the me to load and unload bulky items or items requiring other specific care. Willingness to help move and lift large items, within reason, is required. We will use castors and other tools as appropriate to minimize direct lifting and carrying, but you must be willing and able to do a reasonable amount of varied physical work.

Driving large vehicles is not required for initial hire, but willingness to learn to drive vehicles such as a van or pickup truck with a trailer would be ideal in a candidate looking to grow with the company.

Courtesy and professionalism with customers is important.

This starts as a contract position for limited jobs on which I need help, and may grow into a part time or full time position for a reliable worker.

Ability to commute to various starting locations is preferred.

Pay is $20 per hour and you WILL be paid at $20 an hour for all drive time to and from job starting locations. Expect to drive up to an hour to start each job. Alternatively I can offer a ride for the right candidate, but that commute time would be unpaid. Pay may increase to up to $25/hour depending on the quality of the help and availability of work.
