COAL & SOLID FUEL DELIVERY DRIVER – LIMERICK

Location: Limerick Depot
Pay: €35,000–€40,000 per year

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Coal & Solid Fuel Delivery Driver to join our team at our Limerick depot.

This is primarily a local delivery role involving the delivery of coal and other solid-fuel products to customers throughout Limerick and the surrounding areas.

The position is physical and hands-on, with regular lifting, carrying and stacking of bags of solid fuel. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, dealing directly with customers and completing a busy multi-drop delivery schedule.

Occasional deliveries of LPG gas cylinders to commercial customers may also be required. ADR certification would be an advantage, but ADR training can be provided for the right candidate.

The Role

• Complete local multi-drop deliveries of coal and solid fuel
• Load the delivery vehicle safely and check all products before leaving the depot
• Unload, carry and stack bags of solid fuel at customers’ premises
• Ensure the correct products are delivered to each customer
• Follow planned delivery routes and schedules
• Provide friendly and professional customer service
• Complete delivery paperwork and obtain proof of delivery
• Handle customer payments when required
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks
• Report vehicle defects, delivery issues or delays promptly
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean, safe and presentable
• Occasionally deliver LPG gas cylinders when required
• Assist with loading and general depot duties when needed
• Follow all company and health and safety procedures
• Represent the company professionally while on the road and at customers’ premises

Essential Requirements

• Full, current Category B driving licence
• Full CPC
• Physically capable of regularly lifting and carrying bags of coal and solid fuel
• Strong commitment to safe working practices
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Able to work independently and manage a delivery schedule
• Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
• Flexible approach to the needs of the business

Desirable Experience

• Previous multi-drop or van-delivery experience
• Experience driving a 3.5-tonne vehicle
• Experience in the solid-fuel, coal, haulage or delivery industry
• Familiarity with Limerick and the surrounding areas
• ADR certification (beneficial)

ADR training can be provided to a suitable candidate.
