About the Role:
The Dental Prosthetist is responsible for the assessment, design, fabrication, and fitting of dental prosthetics, ensuring high-quality, culturally safe, and patient-centered care. This role requires a strong commitment to providing culturally competent oral health services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, integrating traditional knowledge, values, and community health priorities into dental prosthetic care.

Duties:
  • Provide high-quality prosthetic solutions tailored to individual patient needs, ensuring functionality, comfort, and aesthetics.
  • Actively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure culturally appropriate prosthetic care.
  • Educate patients, families, and community groups on the importance of oral hygiene and denture care using culturally relevant materials and approaches.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, including dentists, oral health therapists, and Lab technicians to provide integrated oral health care.
  • Ensure all services comply with AHPRA, infection control, and workplace safety regulations.

Benefits

  • Salary $93,613 to $97,134 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience).

COVID-19 Requirements

  • Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a COVID -19 vaccine is encouraged.
Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
  • Bachelor of Dental Prosthetics or equivalent
  • Unrestricted registration with AHPRA
  • At least 1+ year experience as a Dental Prosthetist
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Known Blood Borne Viral Status including HIV, Hepatitis B and C and antibody levels
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes
  • Ability to support a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes
  • Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills.
Desirable, but not mandatory:
  • Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Knowledge with EXACT
  • Willingness to obtain Influenza Vaccination and COVID-19 Vaccination
