Description:
ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and passionate Designer to join our Design team. This role is primarily responsible for the research, design and development of Viktoria & Woods’ ready to wear collections focusing on Tailoring, Outerwear, Denim and Shirting categories. This position will also lead, mentor, develop and guide Product Developers.

Reporting to the Design Director, you will –

Design and develop product ranges from concept to production, ensuring a cohesive design direction and clear communication of design vision through range boards, colour stories and graphic concepts.
Research and identify key trends, fabrics, colours, and styles through various mediums, providing seasonal trend analysis and insights to the team.
Create original Illustrator CADs, delivering accurate design packs and ensuring quality, cost, and sustainability considerations are met within margin and pricing guidelines.
Collaborate closely with the Product Developer to ensure accurate design handover, manage the critical path, and maintain design integrity throughout the development process.
Lead fit sessions, provide technical support, and ensure accurate garment details, including care instructions, are communicated.
Analyse sales feedback and conduct SWOT assessments to continuously improve designs and contribute to broader business strategies.
Coach and develop the design team, providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews to enhance team capabilities.

Skills and Experiences:
YOU WILL BRING:
Tertiary qualifications in Fashion Design or equivalent is essential
3+ years of proven success in a designer role
Ability to create original designs and think outside the box.
Extensive knowledge of the global fashion markets.
Strong Photoshop, Illustrator CAD and other design program skills.
Strong technical knowledge and garment construction skills.
Extensive knowledge of fabrics, colours, trims and related raw materials.
Experience in denim design and development, with a focus on wash techniques and finishes.
Highly skilled in visual design concepts (by hand and/or PC/Mac).
Experience with Google Suite preferred.
Solid project planning and stakeholder management skills.
