Drywall Finisher (Taper)

Job Description: Drywall Finisher

Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by removing old drywall, plaster, or paint
- Install and repair drywall panels
- Apply joint compound and tape to seams and corners
- Smooth and level the surface using hand tools and sandpaper
- Apply texture or decorative finishes to the drywall as needed
- Clean up work area and dispose of debris properly

- Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings

- Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound

- Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weather proof surfaces

- Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring

- Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied

- Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a drywall finisher or similar role
- Proficient in using drywall tools and equipment
- Strong knowledge of different types of drywall materials and finishes
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions accurately
- Attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship skills
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
