Overview
We are seeking a skilled Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drywall installation and finishing, with a strong understanding of construction practices. As a Taper, you will be responsible for applying tape and joint compound to seams and imperfections in drywall surfaces to prepare them for painting or finishing. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship will contribute significantly to the overall quality of our projects.

Duties

• Apply tape and joint compound to drywall seams, corners, and imperfections.
• Smooth out surfaces to ensure a flawless finish.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding and cleaning as necessary.
• Collaborate with other construction team members, including carpenters and painters, to ensure project timelines are met.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.
• Perform caulking around windows, doors, and other openings as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the duration of the project.

Requirements

• Proven experience in drywall finishing or related fields such as construction painting or carpentry.
• Proficiency in caulking techniques and tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work.
• Good physical stamina, capable of lifting materials and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

• Bonus pay

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Vernon, BC V1T 5V4

Expected start date: 2025-07-28
