Dutch Teacher (Part-Time) - The British School Of Amsterdam

We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Dutch Teacher to join our Junior School teaching team on a part-time basis, starting in September 2025. Working two days per week (Monday/Tuesday), you'll teach Dutch language learning skills to our Junior School pupils.

Purpose of the Job:

The primary objective of the role is to take responsibility for the teaching and learning of Dutch language learning, in a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment, and to deliver the best outcomes for our pupils.

Specific responsibilities:

• Plan, teach and review high-quality Dutch lessons, inspiring every child to love learning, to attain high standards and to make excellent progress
• Develop excellent relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Collaborate effectively with team members and class teachers
• Make provision for pupils with additional needs
• Create a safe, organised and purposeful classroom environment
• Promote consistent, positive behaviour at all times
• Maintain assessment records and reports on pupil progress
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
• Take a proactive part in the wider life of the school (e.g. Dutch cultural events, supervising playtime or lunchtime duties, supporting educational visits including residential camps, leading an extracurricular activity)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Recognised teaching qualification
• Experience of teaching younger school-age children
• Experience of teaching Dutch in an educational setting
• Strong subject knowledge in Dutch language learning
• Positive, enthusiastic approach
• Kind, calm, and empathetic manner
• Strong organisation & time management skills
• Confident IT and technology skills
• Knowledge of British Schools curriculum (or similar) - useful
