Job Title: Duty Manager
Location: Wildlands Galway
About Wildlands
Wildlands is a unique adventure and accommodation development set within 20 acres of mature woodlands, on the N59 overlooking Ballyquirke Lough in Moycullen, Co. Galway. Wildlands opened in August 2020 consists of:
- An adventure park with activities for all ages catering for more than 1000 per day;
- an elevated light-filled events space which holds 200+ overlooking the park;
- a contemporary 150-seater restaurant, the Olive Tree Kitchen;
- 14 luxurious wooden cabins with a birds-eye view of the park, overlooking Ballyquirke Lake (and plans for an additional 15 larger cabins);
- the “Wildlands Shack” retail shop and food outlet; and
- the “Wildlands Wagon”, a retro custom-made Volkswagen selling coffee and treats to the public and visitors.

Job Description
The Duty Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the adventure activities, accommodation and restaurant during assigned shifts. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences, safe operations, efficient staff management, and smooth coordination between adventure activities and food & beverage services.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee daily operations of the adventure park and restaurant during duty shifts.
- Act as the main point of contact for guests, handling enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Ensure high standards of customer service across all departments.
- Monitor guest flow, bookings, and capacity to maximise efficiency and enjoyment.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all adventure activities and restaurant operations comply with health, safety, and legal requirements.
- Conduct safety briefings, checks, and incident reporting as required.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, accidents, or operational issues.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are always maintained.
Staff Leadership & Management
- Coordinate staff schedules, breaks, and shift cover.
- Provide on-the-spot training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
Adventure Park Operations
- Ensure equipment checks, activity readiness, and staff certifications are up to date.
- Coordinate activity starts times and staffing levels.
- Ensure all walkways are clear from litter and all areas of park are well maintained during shift.
Restaurant / Retail & Food & Beverage Oversight
- Oversee restaurant service standards and operational flow.
- Support food and beverage teams during peak periods.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, POS use, and end-of-shift reporting.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues.
- Daily checks on products in our Shack retail outlet
- Rostering for our Shack retail unit
- Ensure Shack is clean and well presented daily and is open on time.
Administration & Reporting
- Complete daily checklists, reports, and handovers
- Report incidents, maintenance issues, and staffing concerns to senior management.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Complete any tasks or projects given by GM.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous supervisory or management experience (hospitality, leisure, tourism, or adventure sector preferred)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
Desirable
- Experience in adventure activities, outdoor recreation
- Food safety or hospitality management certification
- First Aid qualification
- Cash handling and POS experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €30,000.00-€35,000.00 per year
