Sundowners Day Care has been offering high quality non-profit licensed childcare programs in Windsor and the surrounding community since 1987. We are governed and operated by professionals with many years of experience in Early Childhood Education and care. We are multi-site childcare organization licensed by the Ministry of Education. All our programs are located in schools because we strongly believe this model of care is one of the best options for families today.

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educators to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. You will work with our school age children in our before and after school programs. These are split-shift positions that are eligible for benefits as outlined in the collective agreement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards and objectives.
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's development and well-being.
• Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback and support tailored to individual needs.
• Facilitate group activities that promote teamwork, communication, and social skills among children.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom space, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.
• Collaborate with other educators to enhance curriculum delivery and share best practices.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education trends.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred; an associate degree may be considered with relevant experience.
• Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act and the licensing manual.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young learners.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid, Safe Food Handler certification
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Sundowners offers competitive pay rates $21.77-27.49 (includes the Provincial Wage Enhancement) as well a Health and Welfare benefits for these positions (Health, dental, vision, chiropractic, massage, etc.)
