Panther Ecology Ltd, a leading Environmental Consultancy Company in the South East Region is looking for an experienced Ecologist.

The Role:

We are looking for a full time Ecology Consultant to join our team. The main responsibilities for this role would be as follows:

• Preparation of planning documents for a range of sectors, from initial planning applications through to further information requests and planning conditions.
• Assisting in the co-ordination and preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, in particular the preparation of Biodiversity Chapters and associated sections.
• Preparation of Stage 1 Screening for Appropriate Assessment, Stage 2 Natura Impact Statement and Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) reports.
• Undertaking ecological site assessments and flora and fauna surveys to establish baseline ecological conditions and where required, more species specific surveys.
• Liaising and co-ordinating with sub-contractors throughout all stages of a project, from the initial tender process through to reviewing of reports and providing feedback.
• Consultation with local authorities and statutory consultees.
• Preparation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP’s).

The Requirements:

• A postgraduate degree in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Botany or related discipline.
• A minimum of 1-2 years work experience in an ecology-based role would be beneficial.
• Ecological field skills including flora and fauna identification or areas of ecological expertise.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Strong report writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of relevant environmental legislation.
• Ability to work well in teams.
• Good time management is essential.
• Membership of a recognised environmental professional body such as CIEEM would be an advantage.
• Must have a full, clean driving licence.
• Flexibility with regards to working hours an advantage.
