Lidl Farm: The Lidl Farm offers schoolchildren an opportunity to learn how everyday produce gets from Farm-to-Fork. Using land at Lidl's Regional Distribution Centre in Newbridge, County Kildare, and supported by Agri Aware, Lidl has turned over 8 acres of land into a free educational farm experience which primary school children from 2nd to 6th Class can enjoy and explore. The on-site education delivery is guided by the SESE curriculum to deliver an outdoor classroom experience. Job description:The successful candidate will work closely with the Lidl Ireland and Agri Aware teams to deliver a range of educational materials in both written and verbal formats. The successful candidate will be a highly competent and confident communicator with tour guide or teaching experience. The role will also include the curation of lessons, teaching resources and administrative duties for educational programmes, as required. The candidate will also manage bookings for Lidl farm tours and our mobile farm experience.
Location: Dual office working between the Agri Aware offices at the Irish Farm Centre, Naas Rd, Drimnagh, Dublin 12 and The Lidl Farm, Lidl RDC, Littleconnell, R445, Newbridge, Kildare W12 KT98.
Responsibilities:
● Monitoring tour booking systems, communication with teachers, report writing, stock management and other administrative tasks as required
● Lead groups of students on an educational tour experience, including the operation of a electricity powered train.
● Research topics and prepare age-appropriate lesson plans
● Assist in the creation of educational resources for both primary and secondary school students
● Attendance at events, as required, with occasional evening and weekend work.
● Assist with administrative duties for all educational programmes, as required.
Essential Requirements:
● Educated to degree level in a science related discipline (agricultural science, human nutrition, environmental science) or a teaching degree.
● A full clean driver’s licence
● Tour guide or teaching experience
● Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
● Ability to work on your own initiative
● Experience working with young people and/or groups
● Strong written communication skills
● Willing and able to adapt to different levels of visitor ability and a dynamic working environment
Desirable:
● Knowledge of crop science and native Irish species
● Knowledge of agriculture and Irish food production
● Basic animal husbandry skills
● Irish language speaker.
Interviews will be scheduled from the week of 12th January 2026.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 10 months
Pay: €30,000.00-€34,000.00 per year
