About the Role
The EHS Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all company operations including the collection, transport, recycling, and disposal of waste are fully compliant with Irish environmental and health & safety legislation. This role involves developing and managing effective EHS management systems, driving best practice across all sites, and fostering a strong culture of environmental responsibility and workplace safety. The position is based at our head office, with regular travel required to our depots nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all EPA licences, Waste Management Acts, and related environmental regulations.
Manage environmental monitoring, reporting, and permit renewals, and support ISO 14001 and sustainability initiatives.
Oversee health and safety systems in line with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
Conduct risk assessments, site audits, and employee safety training to maintain a safe working environment.
Lead investigations into incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Manage statutory reporting, inspections, and documentation with the EPA, HSA, and local authorities.
Promote a strong EHS culture through leadership, coaching, toolbox talks, and staff engagement.
About the Person
· Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline required.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar EHS management role, ideally within waste management or similar industry.
· Comprehensive knowledge of Irish EHS legislation (EPA, HSA, Waste Management Acts, ADR, etc.) combined with hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
· Professional certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or Environmental Management (IEMA) are desirable.
· Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
· Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
· Full clean driver’s licence.
