Job Summary: Electrician – Public Lighting

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Qualified Public Lighting Live works Electrician to operate out of the Cork Depot, to service various public lighting projects and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

· Ensuring that the maintenance and public lighting project are delivered in accordance with agreed Specifications, Standards, Health and Safety Plans, Method Statements as laid down in the programme.

· Ensuring any changes in the public lighting project are brought to the attention of the Project Manager.

· Ensuring that maintenance and public lighting project meets the client’s requirements.

· Ensure that a safe system of work is in place.

· Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience of the inspection, testing, certification, and reporting procedures for the work undertaken.

· Coordinate and implement repairs to public lighting faults as required.

· Survey the condition of public lighting infrastructure, recording results.

· Carry out duties in line with specific RAMS and JSSP’s.

· Completing Live works tasks in line with ESB PLWAs.

· Selecting appropriate Traffic management plan and implementation of task.

· Complete on call roster as required.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

· Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate

· Safe Pass

· Full Clean C licence

· ESBN 5 days Live Works training course complete

· SLG – Signing Lighting and Guarding.

· IPAF ticket

Experience:

· Previous experience working as an Electrician, ideally on public lighting maintenance.

· Experience of working around live traffic and preforming SLG requirements.

· Experience of working on ESB networks/public Lighting.

· Experience in Electrical testing and verification.

· Very good understanding of ESB requirements for working on Public Lighting.

· Public Lighting Work Activities - PLWAs

Desirable:

· Safe Electric Qualified Certifier

· CSCS LUGS Card

· Abrasive Wheel

· CSCS Scaffold Card

· HIAB Experience

· First Aid Training

Required Skills & Competencies:

· Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team

· Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

· Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

· Ability to operate systems (Deadsure, Proworks, TMS, etc)

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
