Are you passionate about equine care and enjoy working out in the field alongside veterinarians? Woodside Equine Clinic is seeking an Ambulatory Assistant to join our collaborative and supportive team. This is a full-time position
As an ambulatory assistant, you’ll work directly with our field veterinarians, traveling to farms and barns to support a wide variety of appointments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on horse care, thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and values teamwork and learning.
What you’ll do:
- Assist veterinarians during ambulatory appointments including wellness visits, lameness exams, dentistry, sports medicine, and emergency calls
- Safely handle, restrain, and support horses of various temperaments and sizes in field settings
- Prepare and organize medical supplies, medications, and equipment for ambulatory calls
- Assist with treatments, diagnostics, injections, bandaging, and procedures as directed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of ambulatory vehicles, equipment, and supplies
- Support accurate record keeping and documentation related to farm calls
- Provide excellent client interaction and represent Woodside professionally in the field
What we’re looking for:
- Horse experience is required; veterinary or animal care experience is preferred but not required
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to adapt to changing schedules and case needs
- Dependable, detail-oriented team players who take pride in their work
- Ability to stay calm, positive, and professional during busy or unpredictable days
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stand for extended periods, and assist with large animals
