Overview
We are looking for someone to help with cost estimates for mostly demolition right now, but plenty of room to grow. We are a growing business which mostly does demolition at the moment, but we are looking to start branching off into site work, and building back. This will be a part time job for the meantime, but with the rate of growth we have experienced within the last 2 years, may soon be a full time position.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements using software such as Bluebeam.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets without compromising quality.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets and contracts.
- Assist in contract review and support contract negotiations to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and market conditions affecting estimates.
- Support project management teams with accurate cost forecasts and risk assessments related to estimating activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software tools.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial agreements with clients and subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control measures, and pricing strategies.
- Familiarity with construction site experience and construction management principles is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- A background in project management or related fields is preferred but not required. This role is integral to the successful execution of our projects, requiring a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills to deliver precise estimates that support our company's growth objectives.
