KM Lynskey are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our expanding team in the main contracting division of the business.
The successful candidate will have significant knowledge of estimating within main contracting and have at least five to seven years’ relevant experience along with strong communication skills. If you are motivated and eager to take your career to the next level our rapidly growing construction team will give you the ability to do so.
Location – North Dublin Area
Contract – Full time

THE ROLE:
Estimator
As Estimator, you will be responsible for pricing a range of full lifecycle build projects including residential, commercial, cultural, industrial and educational works.
The role of Estimator involves the following responsibilities:
- Producing commercially sound and technically workable estimates to assist the company in winning projects
- Liaising with quantity surveying team, procurement, subcontractors and other stakeholders as necessary
- Collaboration with all project stakeholders to understand requirements and develop estimating and tendering strategies that meet project objectives.
- Using estimating software along with other relevant tools such as excel to work as effectively and efficiently as possible
- Implementation of a new estimating software system and updating of same.
- Keeping up to date with current building techniques and relevant codes of practice, building regulations and legislation to make sure these are taken account of in the estimating process.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, driving innovation and excellence in estimating and commercial practices.
- Analysing the cost benefits of Modern Methods of Construction compared to Traditional methods
- Completing Value engineering options on elements of Tender Bids
- Preparing successful Tender Bids and handover to the Project Team
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Skills
- Experience as an estimator in main contracting environment with proven experience on submitting project bids
- In depth knowledge of building regulations and standards.
- Good experience in understanding design documents, drawings and 3-D models
- Ability to effectively manage estimating process and associated schedules to required deadlines
- Strong I.T skills are essential, including with packages such as CostX or Buildsoft
- Full Irish driving license
- Ability to working in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
Education & Experience
- Relevant technical background or third level qualification in engineering / architecture construction related discipline
- A minimum of 5-7 years’ proven experience in estimating
