Job Summary:

As an Estimator at Wilec Life Safety and Security, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for fire detection and security system projects across Ireland / Europe. Working closely with the Business Development, Design, and Project teams, you will review tender documentation, develop cost plans, and ensure proposals align with client requirements, technical standards, and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates for fire and security systems.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns including equipment, labour, commissioning, and subcontractor costs.
• Liaise with suppliers / manufacturers and installers to obtain competitive pricing for equipment , materials and labour.
• Work closely with the design and sales teams to develop compliant and value-engineered solutions.
• Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation in line with company procedures.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, pricing schedules, and standard cost templates.
• Assist with handover of successful projects to the project delivery team.
• Keep up to date with industry standards, technologies, and market pricing trends.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in engineering, electrical systems, or construction-related discipline.
• Experience estimating fire alarm or electronic security systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
