About the Role:
We’re looking for a skilled and creative Events Coordinator to join Curtin’s University Events team - a dynamic group of events professionals delivering a diverse calendar of events that inspire, connect and celebrate the Curtin community.
No two days are the same. From high-profile corporate functions and awards ceremonies to vibrant student-focused events, this is a fast-paced role full of variety and opportunity.
You’ll plan and deliver events both on and off campus, bringing ideas to life with equal parts creativity and precision. With your strong organisational skills, attention to detail and flair for creating memorable experiences, you’ll help shape events that reflect Curtin’s spirit and make a lasting impression.
Working closely with colleagues across the University, including senior leaders, professional staff, academics and students, you’ll be part of a supportive environment where creativity, collaboration and initiative are valued.
In this role, you will:
- Plan and deliver events from concept to completion - developing creative ideas, managing budgets, sourcing venues and suppliers, coordinating logistics and overseeing on-the-day delivery and post-event follow-up.
- Develop and maintain detailed event documentation, including run sheets, orders of proceedings, briefing notes and other materials to support seamless execution.
- Work collaboratively with Curtin stakeholders to bring events to life and ensure objectives are met.
- Provide expert guidance and practical event planning support to teams across the University.
- Uphold Curtin’s standards of excellence, ensuring every event is delivered with professionalism, creativity and respect for cultural and ceremonial protocols.
- Brings extensive experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering events from concept to completion, including budgeting, logistics, risk management, venue and supplier coordination and the preparation of detailed event documentation.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working autonomously, managing multiple projects and priorities with confidence and composure.
- Balances creativity and process, bringing fresh ideas to event design while maintaining strong attention to detail and adherence to processes.
- Remains calm under pressure, with the ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Communicates with confidence and clarity, building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrates exceptional organisational skills and a deep understanding of event planning and delivery standards.
- Has experience delivering both large-scale and boutique events, ensuring quality and impact at every level (desired).
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
- Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
