Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic EVS Teacher to join our academic team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in science and the ability to make Environmental Studies engaging, practical and relevant to students’ everyday lives.

Candidates with an academic background in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Life Sciences or another relevant science discipline are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging EVS lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and school academic plan.
• Develop students’ understanding of the natural environment, science, health, sustainability, society and their relationship with the world around them.
• Use experiments, demonstrations, projects, observations and activity-based learning to make concepts practical and engaging.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, activities and appropriate learning materials.
• Encourage scientific curiosity, critical thinking, observation and problem-solving skills among students.
• Integrate environmental awareness and sustainability concepts into classroom learning and school activities.
• Assess student progress and maintain appropriate academic records.
• Provide additional academic support to students where required.
• Maintain positive classroom management and student engagement.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and examinations as applicable.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress where required.
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, academic planning and professional development programmes.
• Collaborate with other teachers, coordinators and school leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Life Sciences or another relevant science discipline.
• B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification preferred.
• Previous teaching experience in a school environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of fundamental science and environmental concepts.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Sound classroom management and lesson-planning skills.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in a CBSE school.
• Familiarity with the CBSE EVS/Science curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Ability to use experiential, inquiry-based and activity-based teaching methods.
• Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and in an age-appropriate manner.
• Interest in environmental awareness, sustainability and practical science education.
• Basic digital literacy and experience using smart-classroom or educational technology.

Location Requirement

This is a full-time, on-site position in Kochi. Applicants must currently live in Kochi or within a reasonable commutable distance of the school. Candidates who would require long-distance relocation before being able to join should clearly mention this when applying.
