SUMMARY
Sells and schedules needed service work in the service department while following service processes and procedures set out in the DFC Auto Group, Inc Standards Acts as a liaison between the customer, technician and service and parts manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.)
- Schedules service appointments. Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible
- Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information
- Creates a properly written repair order including all required information as well as clearly stating customer concerns
- Test drives the vehicle with customer as needed to confirm the problem or refer to the Workshop Manager
- Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service
- Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
- Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts as required.
- Establishes “promised time” with the customer.
- Obtains customer’s signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy
- Establishes customer’s method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary.
- Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains any additional cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed and record onto the repair order
- Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted Closes repair order as appropriate and ensure repair order total matches the estimate
- Ensures vehicles keys are tagged prior to leaving the Drive Through
- Assists with keeping service department forms, maintenance menus and pricing guides up-to-date.
- Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
- Supports the quality control process to eliminate comebacks.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
- Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process
- Other duties may be assigned and will be completed at the request of the manager.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Keeps work area clean.
- Must maintain monthly, quarterly & yearly brand certification.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent; and one to three years direct experience and/or experience as an automotive technician
OTHER ATTRIBUTES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, salesmanship and good organization skills Ability to adapt and change with the requirements of the customer and enjoy working with customers on a daily basis Ability to address and resolve customer and/or employee concerns in an equitable, ethical and fair manner
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Ontario Driver’s License in good standing
