We’re hiring a fabrication Workshop Manager to lead our production team and drive quality, efficiency, and delivery across all jobs.

The Role

You’ll run day-to-day fabrication, manage 20–30 staff, and work closely with the Operations Manager. You’ll be responsible for planning, execution, quality, and ensuring EN1090 compliance across all outputs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the production programme and daily rota
  • Oversee fabrication progress and maintain floor-level visibility
  • Coordinate materials and prep site requirements (bolts, fixings, access gear)
  • Ensure correct storage, packaging, and movement of raw and finished goods
  • Conduct quality checks and enforce EN1090 compliance
  • Review and file blue sheets and fabrication drawings
  • Support design handovers and finalise job packages
  • Communicate with site teams and resolve production issues as they arise
  • Maintain basic staff welfare facilities
  • Drive process improvements through LEAN practices
  • Report regularly to management on progress and performance

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing role (steel fabrication required)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
  • Practical leadership and clear communication skills
  • Senior, hands-on leadership role and have the technical knowledge to help push the teams along while maintaining team spirit
