About your role:

The Finance Margin Manager is a member of the Senior Finance Management Team, with full responsibility for financial reporting of all business segments to gross margin level. In this role you’ll have a broad spectrum of responsibility and there will be an emphasis on shifting the focus of the finance function from transactional to value adding, whilst maintaining a strong controls environment. This is a key hire for Bord Gáis Energy and will give the you an opportunity to instantly add value at an exciting time for the Finance team as we strive towards a best-in-class ambition.

Here's what you’ll be doing:

• Responsibility for the accurate and controlled accounting and management reporting of €3bn turnover and €2bn cost of sales spanning numerous business units including consumer, business, generation, trading, and home services
• Lead, develop and coach the margin team to inspire maximum individual and team performance
• Drive the Bord Gáis Energy finance transformation journey, demonstrating strong change management skills, applying a fresh lens on processes, with a view to transforming finance from a supporting function to a business partner - increasing efficiency, the quality of information and improving decision making
• Deliver regular monthly management reporting; providing insight on segmental performance relative to budget and forecasted estimates. Will include variance and operational drivers analysis, partnering with the business to define implications and suggest actions to drive overall performance
• Maintaining a strong controls environment and protecting the integrity of the balance sheet
• Ensuring the preparation of timely, relevant, and accurate management information, accounts and other financial and statutory information
• Ownership end to end of the balance sheet – ensuring that there are robust controls and reporting in place that call out risks and errors
• Ownership of delivering month end results, statutory accounts and regulatory accounts
• Re-define R2R processes so that SAP is optimized where possible and any non-value activity is eliminated – leveraging skills across multiple teams
• Build and maintain strong relationships with our group colleagues across various teams to ensure skills are shared and optimized
• Full ownership of audit relationship and deliverables

Here's what we’re looking for:

• Qualified accountant / QBE - ACA, ACCA, CIMA
• Minimum 4 years PQE
• Experience managing people an advantage
• You should have a track record of delivering results
• You will have strong leadership and communication skills
• Dynamic self-starter, highly motivated and with a clear ambition to transform people and processes to best-in-class
• Highly analytical with an ability to see the “big picture”
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulously detail orientated
• Team player prepared to help others achieve departmental and business goals
• You will have the ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple tasks concurrently with strong time management skills and an ability to work to strict deadlines
• Strong IT skills in particular Excel. SAP and Power BI skills an advantage but not essential
