Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and reporting standards. The Financial Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and SOX regulations while preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting to optimize the organization’s financial position.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and ensure adherence to non-profit and governmental accounting standards as applicable.
  • Lead budgeting processes and provide insights through financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks) for efficient financial management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
  • Maintain technical accounting knowledge to address complex financial issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of non-profit and governmental accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in cash management, account reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial report writing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with various accounting software systems; experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to convey financial concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • A solid understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping principles, and general ledger reconciliation processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to make a significant impact within our organization while advancing their career in finance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
