Are you a mechanically inclined individual with the ability to handle variety at an upbeat pace? Given the job training with the opportunity to become experienced in the following areas: servicing, repairing, and retro fitting fire sprinkler systems. This position offers opportunities for multiple certifications and knowledge within a skilled trade, as well as a lot of interaction with different co-workers and customers.
Job Summary
This role demands specialized expertise, technical problem-solving, and a disciplined, results-driven approach to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy. The work environment is structured, expectations are clear, and while the pace is faster than average, quality is never compromised. Communication and relationships are grounded in technical expertise, and new ideas are carefully evaluated before adoption. For roles involving supervision, the position requires authoritative decision-making, ensuring adherence to policies and deadlines, while providing opportunities for team development, coaching, and effective delegation. Success relies on integrity, urgency, and consistently achieving established quality standards.
This position reports to the Vice President of Sprinkler.
Key Responsibilities
- Use mobile app to manage work orders, log hours, and update dispatch.
- Complete accurate records of service, parts, mileage, expenses, and billable hours.
- Inspect, repair, install, and maintain sprinkler systems per codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Identify material needs, make repairs, and ensure proper parts and safety checks are in place.
- Report issues, communicate effectively with team and office staff, and respond promptly to messages.
- Maintain company vehicle, inventory, and professional conduct.
- Follow all safety protocols, work scheduled hours (including on-call rotation), and promote additional products and services.
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn, adapt to changing tasks, and obtain certifications as needed.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machines.
- Ability to use dispatching software and apps on a smartphone/tablet; proficient with computer, phone, and tablet for parts inquiries and ordering.
- Strong communication (oral and written), problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and work both independently and with a team.
- Physical ability to safely lift/push up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and sit/stand/walk/bend for long periods.Endure extended drive times and work in austere environments with extreme weather, noise, and other challenging conditions.
- Flexibility to occasionally work out of town (never over weekends) and participate in on-call rotations.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to/from shop, functional phone, and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Must pass drug screening upon hire and periodically.
