Pay Rate: $24.50 – $30.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

Carpet Act Limited is a locally owned flooring service provider based in Wellington. We specialize in residential and commercial carpet installations, offering reliable and high-quality service to our clients.

About the Role:
We are looking for a full-time Flooring installer (Carpet Layer) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in laying carpets and floor coverings and take pride in delivering neat, professional finishes.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Measure the floor and check the plans to estimate the materials needed
• Prepare floor by cleaning it, levelling it, and removing any trims or skirting boards
• Cut and lay the underlay to fit the size and shape of the room
• Carefully lay the carpet, match any patterns, and cut around corners, edges, and fittings
• Use tools to stretch the carpet and fix it in place so it sits flat and tight
• Trim the carpet edges and fit door trims to make everything look neat
• Follow health and safety procedures on-site

Skills and Experience Required:

• At least 1 year of experience as a carpet layer OR a relevant qualification (e.g., New Zealand Certificate in Flooring)
• Good physical fitness and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Honest, punctual, and willing to learn
• A valid driver’s licence is preferred

• Public holidays
• Rotating roster
• Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

• Overtime pay

• NZ resident visa and citizenship (Required)
