COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Nicolas Donck has owned/operated Crystal Organic Farm since 1993. We invite you to come and learn from one of the Southeasts most experienced farmers on one of the oldest certified organic farms in the area. The farm specializes in year round production of organic vegetables, fruits, flowers and medicinal herbs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The farmhand is active in all aspects of crop production. We will fully train all employees and ensure that they are comfortable with their responsibilities. Pay will be based on experience.
REQUIREMENTS
- A passion for organic small scale farming is a MUST!
- Absolute ability to physically meet the demands of full time farming!
- Strong work ethic
- Be a critical thinker
- Works well with the farm crew or individually
- Preferred minimum 1 Year Farming Experience, but will consider less experience for the right candidate.
- Ability to handle the many physical demands of farming such as the summer heat in GA, working in cold and rain, lifting regularly, standing for long periods of time, bending at the knees and back, etc.
DUTIES
- Help with planting, harvesting, weeding and cultivating crops
- Manual labor such as weed eating, mowing, laying/removing landscape fabric and plastic mulch, banging t-posts, etc
- Help with washing, sorting, weighing, and packing produce
- Other farm jobs
HOURS
- Monday- Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
WORK RELATIONSHIPS
Works closely with farm owners (Nicolas & Jeni) and other farm crew members. Once well-trained, will be given sole responsibility of some tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- No weekends
- Year round work
