Introduction:
Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island.
The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.
Description:
We are seeking a hands on Gardener / Groundskeeper to help keep Daydream Island looking its absolute best. You will be responsible for the presentation, upkeep, and maintenance of the resort's gardens, lawns and outdoor spaces, ensuring our guests experience the tropical beauty of our island.
This is a live off island role, with discounted ferry transfers available.
About the Role
- Maintain all gardens, lawns and indoor plants to a high standard
- Mowing lawns and edging
- Triming plants and trees
- Outdoor cleaning duties and upkeep of public areas
- Ensure all pathways and outdoor public areas are safe for guests and colleagues
- Safe maintenance and storage of equipment, tools, and garden chemicals
- Assist with paving and general improvements
- Follow all safety procedures and demonstrate safe manual handling practices.
- Previous experience in resort, commercial or public gardening
- Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
- Drivers licence (Essential)
- Comfortable working outdoors in tropical conditions
- Strong communication skills
- Think on their feet and strong problem solving skills
- Professional, guest focused attitude
- Reliable team player who can work under pressure when required
