Alpha Tanks Ltd is currently recruiting a General Manager for our busy factory in Clones, Co Monaghan.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy manufacturing facility.
Job Summary/Purpose
As General Manager, you will serve as the strategic driver of our engineering operations, responsible for translating project requirements into seamless, efficient execution. You will hold P&L accountability, overseeing manufacturing, fabrication, welding and all other workflows while ensuring that safety, excellence in quality, and technical precision remain uncompromised. Your primary focus is the operational excellence of the facility. You will lead cross-functional teams—including production, planning, supply chain, drawing, and engineering—to optimise throughput, reduce lead times, and implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies. By balancing rigorous financial discipline with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, you will mitigate risks in all projects and drive the scalable growth necessary to maintain our competitive edge in the market.

- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all business personnel and processes
- Champion Lean Six Sigma improvement projects
- Maximise process capability
- Employee development through Lean Six Sigma training
Customer
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
- Implement Voice of Customer methodologies for internal and external customers
Job Requirements/Competencies
- Previous experience in senior management roles with responsibility for implementing strategic goals
- Minimum 10-15+ year experience leading large-scale manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of engineering workflows, fabrication and welding processes
- Digitally astute. Experience using ERP systems to drive operational effectiveness
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-driven. Must lead by example
- Strong ability to make decisions
- Good team motivator and capable of building cross functional teams to solve problems
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or a related field (preferred)
Successful Deliverables from this Role
The General Manager’s success is defined by delivering consistent profitability through P&L ownership and disciplined cost management across large-scale projects. They must ensure operational excellence by hitting aggressive targets for throughput, resource utilisation, and right-first-time quality. Maintaining a safe working environment is non-negotiable, requiring the strict enforcement of safety protocols and regulatory compliance. Beyond the production areas, they deliver strategic growth by optimising workflows through Lean methodologies and maintaining high on-time delivery rates to satisfy customers. Ultimately, their performance rests on building a resilient workforce, balancing technical precision with the high output demands of a complex engineering environment.

Pay: From €75,000.00 per year
