Specifics of the Job:


Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start your career in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)? We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate EHS Advisor to join our team based in Dublin City.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. Working closely with the EHS Regional Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our Safety Management System and contributing to a variety of EHS and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

The individual will also be available to attend site/s to assist with the EHS duties of a site based EHS when required. This will develop to a full-time site based EHS role over time.

We will require someone who has:

A third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.

A genuine interest in health & safety and a desire to develop a long-term career in EHS.

Flexibility to travel to sites across Dublin when required.


Overview:


We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Graduate Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to support our EHS function across both office and site-based environments. Based in Dublin City, this is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation in EHS practice.

In this role, you will work closely with the EHS Regional Manager to assist with the maintenance and implementation of our Safety Management System, contribute to the organisation of EHS and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and support on-site EHS activities as required. This includes assisting with audits, inspections, training coordination, and ensuring compliance with Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation.

You’ll be exposed to a wide range of EHS tasks and will play an active role in promoting a safe and inclusive workplace culture. The role offers a structured path for professional development, providing the ideal environment to grow your career as an EHS professional.


Key Duties


Assist in implementing and maintaining the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).

Help in ensuring compliance with Irish health and safety legislation.

Participate in the preparation and updating of safety statements, risk assessments, and method statements.

Implement the company's health, safety, quality and environmental policy, procedures and policies.

Advising and assisting site management in drafting and communicating Method Statements, Safe Plans of Action and Toolbox Talks.

Support site teams in adhering to EHS policies and procedures.

Carry out regular site inspections and audits under supervision. Assist in the follow-up required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately.

Assist with accident/incident investigations and reporting, ensuring corrective actions are followed up.

Maintain EHS records, reports, training logs, and registers.

Assist in compiling EHS performance metrics and dashboards.

Prepare safety documentation and reports.

Promote a proactive EHS culture through internal communications and awareness campaigns.

Liaise with employees and contractors to encourage engagement with safety practices.

Support environmental monitoring activities such as waste management, energy tracking, and pollution prevention.

Assist with reporting on environmental KPIs and ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations and licences.

Support the rollout of safety initiatives, campaigns, and wellness programmes.

Get involved in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and sustainability activities where these intersect with EHS.

Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).

Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or sub-contractors working on site.

Compiling relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and preparing for handover to the Client at the end of the project.

Promote the Company mission of being a healthy and incident and injury free workplace.


Skills / Experience required for the role:


A third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field. (Ideally Honors Degree level)

A genuine interest in health & safety and a desire to develop a long-term career in EHS.

Own ability and flexibility to travel to sites across Dublin when required.

Good communication and organisational skills

Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and good time management

Adaptable and solutions driven

Able to work in a team environment or on own initiative.

Pride in the quality and presentation of work

Good organisation and co-ordination skills

Enthusiastic and energetic

Excellent IT skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite

Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment

Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships
