Handyman/Maintenance Technician

PURPOSE: Lantern Ridge is seeking a skilled and reliable handyman/maintenance worker to provide general maintenance on commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, ensuring our facilities are in top condition. Responsibilities include performing repairs, installations, and maintenance on various building systems, equipment, and appliances. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks for residential and commercial properties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify areas requiring repairs or maintenance including seasonal/preventative maintenance.
• Provide recommendations for larger or specialized repair needs to management.
• Repair or replace defective parts in appliances, equipment, and structures such as doors, windows, and flooring.
• Install fixtures and appliances like lighting, ceiling fans, or kitchen appliances.
• Maintain air conditioning units.
• Assemble furniture, cabinets, and other items as required.
• Maintain exterior areas by performing tasks like pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and basic landscaping.
• Perform pool and fountain maintenance.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Maintain parking lots, walkways, and entryways, including snow and ice removal as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service to a wide variety of landscape power equipment. This will include mowers, 2 cycle equipment, utility vehicles, trailers and trucks.
• Assist on special projects as needed.
• Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupation Safety and Health Act) standards, building codes, and comply with company safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to accept direction and complete tasks as assigned while working as part of a team or individually.
• Experience as a Handyman or in similar roles.
• Knowledge of basic HVAC systems is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and instructions.
• Familiarity with tools, materials, and methods required for repairs and maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Related vocational education or certifications preferred
• Time management skills with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and transport a load up to 80 lbs.
• Ability to work in a warm/hot and at times cold weather conditions
• Ability to work bending, stooping, standing, sitting, and lying down

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
