Job Overview:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Hardware IT Solutions and Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day purchasing requests, ensuring both cost-effective and timely acquisition of high-quality products from various vendors. In addition to procurement, this role also involves managing inventory levels, negotiating with suppliers, assessing end user needs, and collaborating with other departments and shipping/receiving of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess end-user needs and technical requirements to procure the appropriate hardware and IT solutions tailored to client specifications.
- Source and purchase IT-related products and materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze supplier quotes to determine the lowest total cost of ownership.
- Track and document all purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries.
- Receive incoming orders, verify contents, and maintain accurate records of arrivals.
- Coordinate outbound shipments and ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain accuracy and avoid shortages or overstock.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Track procurement expenses and assist in budget monitoring.
- Recommend and implement process improvements or new systems to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Plan and schedule procurement activities to meet operational timelines.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, internal teams, and management to ensure smooth procurement operations.
- Support facility operations including receiving deliveries, assisting visitors, and handling logistics.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the procurement and operations team
Qualifications:
Education, Licenses, and/or Certification, Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT and with computer hardware.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of IT and computer hardware products and market trends.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear criminal record check
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties
- Work in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
- Work performed primarily in an office environment
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone
- This role involves working in a variety of environments and includes regular interaction with staff and members of the public
