Barberstown Castle Hotel is a renowned four-star hotel nestled in Straffan, in the heart of County Kildare. Known for our warm hospitality and exceptional service, we pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. We are now seeking and experienced and dedicated Head of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping team and ensure our guests enjoy a pristine and welcoming environment.

The Role

As the Head of Housekeeping / Accommodation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's housekeeping operations. Your role will involve leading, motivating, and managing the housekeeping team, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the accommodation department.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver excellent service
• Develop and implement cleaning standards and procedures
• Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel
• Manage stock levels and ordering of cleaning supplies and linen
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Conduct regular training and performance reviews for staff
• Work closely with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
• Manage guest requests and resolve any issues promptly

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within a hotel or hospitality environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, health and safety regulations
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
• A positive attitude and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
