Join our award-winning team at Harvey's Point Hotel as part-time Health & Safety Officer. The Health & Safety Officer is an important position working closely with the General Manager, HR Manager, Executive Head Chef and Maintenance Manager to ensure the exceptional Health & Safety standards and compliance at Harvey's Point.

About Harvey’s Point

Harvey’s Point is a 4 star luxury Donegal hotel set in the idyllic surroundings of Lough Eske with the Bluestack mountains in the background.

The hotel has been at the forefront of the luxury hotel scene for over 30 years and comprises of 101 beautiful bedrooms offering breathtaking scenery at every turn.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site leadership in health and safety matters, aligned with internal systems and external support partners.
  • Collaborate with external auditor on continuous improvement of health and safety practices and compliance.
  • Work closely with external auditor and the Executive Head Chef to support food safety and hygiene through the HACCP framework.
  • Engage with our H&S consultant to manage the Risk Awareness System, ongoing Safety Checks, and internal inspection routines.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and internal audits.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses; document and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update all safety documentation, training records, and statutory compliance files.
  • Deliver or coordinate training for staff on safety awareness and emergency procedures.
  • Foster and promote Harvey’s Point’s strong health and safety culture across all departments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE legislation and relevant industry developments.
  • Oversee the hotel’s fire safety compliance and procedures.
  • Coordinate staff training requirements with the HR department.
  • Organise and deliver essential safety training, e.g., Manual Handling (Train-the-Trainer qualification preferred).

About The Role

Candidate Requirements:

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification or degree.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • Strong understanding of current health & safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a health & safety role, preferably in a hospitality or service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to change.
  • Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365; experience with digital H&S systems is a plus.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
