Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy construction machinery, including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics on systems such as wiring harnesses, sensors, starters, alternators, and control modules.
- Repair and replace hydraulic components, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and air brake systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, cutting tools, and hand tools to meet specific project needs or repair standards.
- Diagnose engine problems in diesel engines and perform necessary repairs on fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust components.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members regarding equipment status and troubleshooting steps.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician in dealership environments or construction settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial equipment.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive repair techniques, hydraulics troubleshooting, and schematics interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, transmission servicing, tire service, welding (including soldering), HVAC systems on heavy equipment, and suspension alignment.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred to better understand operational issues during maintenance.
- Ability to use power tools safely and efficiently for assembly or repair tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs.

Pay: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour
