Southpoint Equipment in Essex is a growing business, supporting the sale and service of Kubota products for farm, lawn and garden, landscaping and construction needs. We are looking for a service technician to perform mechanical repair and maintenance on agriculture, construction, and heavy equipment. Preference is given to licensed techs who understand the Agriculture and Construction market. Apprentice techs that want a rewarding career will also be considered. This position reports to the Service Manager. Compensation will differ based on experience and qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Inspect and test equipment, diagnose faults and malfunctions, repair and replace mechanical units, test and adjust units to proper specifications
- Perform scheduled maintenance service, and advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
- Install new and added-on equipment.
- Complete accurate and timely reports to record problems and work performed
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and techniques.
- Other mechanical work as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3 years+ years as a licensed service technician (Preferred)
- Farm and construction technician: 1 year (Preferred)
- Currently pursuing a license or hold a Journeyman license in 421A
- Will consider truck (310T) or auto (310S) technician
- Good time management skills
- Good communication skills
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
- Computer literate and able to utilize and learn new technology
Education and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma
- Possess or plan to attain a 421A license
- Previous experience as an agricultural or heavy equipment technician (Preferred)
- Valid G driver's license
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
