HGV Mechanic – Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Cabragh Business Park, Thurles, Co. Tipperary

Salary: €35,000 – €45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: 39–45 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Quinlan Transport is seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Mechanic to join our team at our depot in Cabragh Business Park, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. This is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term employment, a competitive salary, and the opportunity to work in a professional and well-equipped workshop environment.

Key Duties

Service, maintain, and repair HGVs and trailers

Carry out CVRT preparation, diagnostics, and fault-finding

Respond to defect reports and rectify mechanical issues efficiently

Complete routine and non-routine repairs to a high standard

Work closely with the transport team to minimise vehicle downtime

Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations, RSA standards, and company procedures

Maintain accurate service and maintenance records

Assist and support junior staff when required

Requirements

National Craft Certificate / City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent)

Minimum of 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience

Experience with HGVs or heavy vehicle maintenance is an advantage

Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills

Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work safely, efficiently, and as part of a team

Good level of English (spoken and written)
