As a Doorperson at The Fitzwilliam Hotel, you are the first and last point of contact for our guests. You will maintain a continuous presence at the front entrance, delivering a signature Fitzwilliam welcome that prioritises warmth, attentiveness and a flawless guest experience from the moment of arrival through to departure, while supporting the smooth operation of the lobby and guest services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Service

  • Maintain a professional, friendly presence at the hotel entrance at all times.
  • Welcome guests warmly, assist with luggage and arrange transportation as required.
  • Provide accurate directions and insightful recommendations on Dublin’s attractions, dining and hidden gems.
  • Offer clear information on local amenities such as transport hubs. pharmacies and emergency services.
  • Assist with valet parking of guest vehicles when required.


Safety & Presentation

  • Monitor and maintain the security of the front door and lobby area.
  • Safely store and manage guest luggage, keeping accurate records and ensuring secure handling.
  • Ensure the entrance and lobby remain clean, tidy, and inviting; carry out light cleaning tasks when needed.
  • Maintain impeccable personal grooming and presentation standards.
  • Follow all fire safety and health & safety procedures.


Teamwork & Communication

  • Liaise with other departments to fulfil guest requests promptly and professionally.
  • Stay fully informed about hotel facilities, menu updates, promotions, corporate events and new product introductions to confidently answer guest queries.
  • Support other areas of the hotel when needed to ensure uninterrupted guest service.

About The Role

The ideal candidate:

  • Holds a full, valid, clean driving license.
  • Has strong knowledge of Dublin’s attractions, transport options and cultural highlights.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule to support uninterrupted guest service.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ideally has previous experience in a luxury hospitality or, at a minimum, customer-facing role.
  • Is physically capable of standing for extended periods and assisting with luggage handling.
  • Is proactive, reliable and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Required Criteria

  • Ability to work on a fully flexible schedule
  • Full driving licence
  • Customer service experience
  • Good knowledge of Dublin


Desired Criteria

  • Luxury hospitality experience
