General Manager for tthe Marine Hotel Sutton

With the current growth mode of the Hotels Properties Group, the General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the strategic growth of the property and repositioning it to the 4 Star Market and leading strategic investment projects. The position requires strong hands-on leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Position Overview:

The Hotel General Manager is responsible for the overall operation, profitability, and success of the hotel. This leadership role oversees all departments, ensuring high-quality service, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The GM also develops and implements strategies to meet financial goals, maintain brand standards, and create a positive work environment for all staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management

Oversee daily operations of all hotel departments (front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, sales, and maintenance).

· Ensure the hotel operates efficiently and adheres to all policies, procedures, and brand standards.

· Monitor and manage occupancy rates, room inventory, and yield management strategies.

· Conduct regular inspections to ensure property cleanliness, maintenance, and safety compliance.

2. Financial Performance

· Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

· Analyse financial statements and take corrective action to achieve profitability goals.

· Control costs and expenditures while maintaining service quality.

· Develop revenue management strategies to optimize room rates and maximize occupancy.

3. Guest Experience

· Ensure exceptional customer service to enhance guest satisfaction and retention.

· Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

· Monitor guest feedback through reviews, surveys, and other channels, implementing improvements where necessary.

4. Team Leadership

· Recruit, train, and manage department heads and other staff members.

· Foster a positive, collaborative, and motivating work environment.

· Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching or training as needed.

· Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies.

5. Sales and Marketing

· Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop and execute strategies to attract business.

· Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and local organizations.

· Represent the hotel at industry events and networking opportunities.

6. Compliance and Risk Management

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.

· Develop and implement emergency response and crisis management plans.

· Manage insurance policies and mitigate risks to the property.

7. Strategic Planning

· Identify market trends, competitor analysis, and growth opportunities.

· Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies to achieve the hotel's vision and objectives.

· Stay updated on industry innovations and incorporate them into operations where applicable.
