Domestic Violence Project, Inc. is seeking a full-time Housing Coordinator to advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking while protecting their privacy and legal rights, and maintaining professional boundaries. Offers housing support and individualized services through coordination, referrals, and follow up. Provides safety planning, support, information and advocacy as needed to ensure long-term success of housing program participants.
Duties:
- Receive referrals for housing programs and participate in Coordinated Entry meetings
- Provide assessment services for individuals in need of housing; identify and address immediate needs, barriers, and concerns
- Assist participants in completing applications for public assistance and housing
- Deliver comprehensive case management services for program participants, including safety planning, support of income and independent housing goals; meet with each active program participant, which may include home visits, as required by program funders
- Provide transportation for participants as needed
- Carry a caseload of approximately 10-30 program participants
- Document activities accurately and timely as required by DVPI and its funders
- Provide pertinent information for dashboards and grant-related reporting
- Participate in case reviews and contribute to overall program evaluation, improvements, and planning
- Keep current on availability of housing in the region and proactively seek out new housing opportunities, assistance programs, and resources
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with landlords, property owners, real estate agencies, housing program authorities, and community partners
- Represent DVPI at community collaboration meetings; advocate for victims of domestic violence to facilitate positive change
- Complete in-service training and professional development activities mandated by DVPI and its funders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in case management, trauma-informed care, and/or housing support highly preferred
- Associate’s degree in human services or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire

- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite
Other Requirements
- Adhere to the ethical, confidentiality, and professional-standards requirements of federal and state law, DVPI policies, and the policies of licensing and credentialing boards
- Demonstrate DVPI values in performance of all duties and interactions with program participants, volunteers, and coworkers: Advocate for Survivors, Ensure Equity, Include All, Inspire New Beginnings, Nurture Change, Promote Safety
- Maintain confidentiality of client records and service data
- Available and willing to work some evenings and weekends, as well as occasional on-call shifts
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with less than six points, and proof of automobile insurance, adhering to the minimum requirements of Ohio’s Financial Responsibility Act
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
● Work is performed in an indoor environment. Involves risks or discomforts that require safety precautions typical of an office or home setting, including the need for safe workplace practices, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.
●Performing the daily duties of this job requires seeing, hearing, reading, writing, and verbally communicating in English; operating a computer and standard office equipment; climbing stairs, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching; occasional climbing, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting objects up to 25 pounds and carrying them distances of up to 100 ft.
