About the Role
Liberty Industrial is seeking a proactive, energetic and highly-organised HSEQ Officer (FIFO 2/1) from Perth to support health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) initiatives on major projects in WA. This is an entry level role for a motivated individual who comes with qualifications (min. Cert IV WHS) and 1-3 years of experience.
The Opportunity
Our upcoming large-scale decommissioning and remediation projects will be undertaken in challenging site environments and will encompass:
- The safe removal of hazardous materials.
- Deconstruction of infrastructure.
- Strict adherence to environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HSE advice and support to the project team.
- Train and mentor staff on safety and compliance.
- Conduct HSE audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Manage subcontractor WHS evaluations and ensure compliance with safety systems and site safety documentation.
- Initiate and manage site emergency procedures.
- Liaise professionally with clients.
- Prepare and provide reports for client and company reporting needs.
- Conduct Tool Box sessions.
- Review Work Packs, Work Plans and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and facilitate improvements as needed.
- Monitor the health and well-being of all workers on site.
- Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS or WHS) or higher.
- White Card.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a site-based HSE role or similar.
- Highly organised, ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in your work.
- A team player who can work both collaboratively and autonomously.
- Experience in construction, mining, or a related industry is an advantage.
