Our mission is to provide patient-centered care that is accessible, comprehensive, and culturally sensitive. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, an Indigenous community within our network.

Position Overview:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, you will be a primary healthcare provider responsible for delivering comprehensive, longitudinal care to a diverse patient population. You will play a critical role in promoting health and wellness, managing chronic conditions, and providing preventive care within the community. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a culturally rich environment, making a meaningful impact on the health outcomes of Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation members.

Key Responsibilities:

· Primary Care Services: Provide comprehensive primary care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.

· Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough health assessments, including physical exams and health histories.

· Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans, focusing on preventive health, chronic disease management, and patient education.

· Collaborative Care: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.

· Community Engagement: Participate in community health initiatives, educational programs, and outreach activities to promote health and wellness within the community.

· Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, adhering to professional standards and regulatory requirements.

· Advocacy: Advocate for patients within the healthcare system, ensuring equitable access to healthcare resources and services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, with a focus on advanced clinical practice.
  • Certification: Current enrollment with CRNA extended practice roster.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting. Experience in Indigenous or rural healthcare is an asset.
  • Skills: Strong clinical skills, including diagnostic and treatment abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Cultural Competence: Understanding of Indigenous health issues and the ability to deliver culturally sensitive care.

Experience:

  • Nursing: 2 years (preferred)

NOTE: Preference will be given to individuals currently residing on or a member of Alexis Nakota Sioux First Nation. As this position may be conducted partially on First Nations Reserves, a portion of the salary may be eligible for a Canada Revenue Agency-compliant tax exemption under section 87 of the Indian Act for incumbents who are defined as “Indian” under the Indian Act R.S.C., 1988, c. I-5.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $51.76-$127.78 per hour
