Description:
Join our National Safety Team as our new Injury Management Advisor . This is a pivotal role managing the end-to-end recovery journey for our team members across the country, with a primary focus on our high-volume operations.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Group Safety, Wellbeing & Training Manager, you will manage a national caseload with a heavy focus on physical and psychological injury recovery. You will be the "bridge" between our employees and the medical/legal world, ensuring that every claim is handled with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • End-to-End Case Management: Manage complex physical and psychological injury claims from initial lodgement with national bodies (WorkCover, etc.) through to successful recovery and closure.
  • Technical Advisory: Navigate and interpret varying state legislations and payout requirements to effectively manage premiums and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Partner closely with on-site physios, doctors, lawyers, and insurers to facilitate the best outcomes.
  • Capacity Building: Deliver training to site leaders to increase their capability in RTW processes; this includes national travel at least once per quarter.
  • Data & Investigation: Maintain a high-detail national Excel claims register and review site documentation to prepare evidence for claim liability.
  • Suitable Duties: Proactively develop and monitor return-to-work plans that align with both medical capacity and operational needs.
About You

You are a "hands-on" professional who isn't afraid to lean in and support leaders where capability is still developing. You balance technical legislative knowledge with genuine empathy.

  • Experience: Proven experience in Injury Management or Occupational Rehabilitation.
  • Technical Savvy: Strong understanding of national workers' compensation jurisdictions and intermediate Excel skills for data tracking.
  • Resilience: The ability to remain professional and firm in defending the employer's perspective while navigating the "grind" of complex, long-term claims.
  • Communication: Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate language barriers and build trust with a diverse workforce.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Rehab Management, Occupational Health, or a related clinical discipline.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable with a 38-hour week and the ability to travel interstate approximately once per quarter.
