Description:
Reporting to the National Care Services Manager your primary responsibility will be to assist injured workers through the return to work and compensation process. You will be one of the primary contacts for our injured workers and liaison between Cater Care and external parties and our employees, therefore, a caring, professional and empathetic communication style/manner is essential for this role.
Your key duties will include:
Understanding expectations from an injury (e.g. prognosis for full capacity, what treatment is appropriate, how much treatment is appropriate)
Communicating at a technical level with medical practitioners and comprehending medical documents such as independent medical reports, scans
Conducting assessments of workers injury via phone and provide immediate advice to onsite personnel of how to initially manage an injury
occasional regional and/or interstate travel & also maybe something about project work?
Organising appointments for employees with required medical practitioners
Identifying suitable tasks that provide capacity for a worker in accordance with the nature of their injury (i.e. lower limb vs spine versus upper limb)
Developing and communicating work capacity plans
Liaising with the relevant workers' compensation regulatory bodies and insurer on workers compensation claims (incl. lodgement & ongoing management)
Liaising with the Safety Team Administrator on the management of claims data/information
Manage Workers Compensation Payroll requirements & Insurance Reconciliation process.
Skills and Experiences:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
1-2 years workers compensation claim management experience (or exposure to a similar industry), as well as a good working knowledge of allied health industry, would be highly regarded.
However, candidates who have recently graduated with commensurate Tertiary studies (e.g. Exercise & Health Science, Occupational Therapy etc) will be considered for the role.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong computer literacy.
Flexible approach to work with the ability to handle a busy and varied work day
Motivated and passionate about the support you provide to individuals and the business as a whole
