What's so exciting about this role?
The Inside Sales Team is part of the NZ Sales department at humm Group, supporting merchant partners with the humm product suite. Known for being fast-paced and high-achieving, this team values a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
The Inside Sales Consultant (ISC) is responsible for managing relationships with Tier 3 & 4 merchants, providing proactive and reactive support to drive business growth. Reporting to the Inside Sales Lead, the ISC will engage merchants through both inbound and outbound interactions to support sales initiatives, grow revenue, troubleshoot applications, and provide timely updates on campaigns and promotions.
The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is adaptable, and has a "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality. The ISC should be comfortable challenging the status quo and proactively seeking opportunities to enhance the merchant experience.
What Does An Average Day Look Like?
No day is average at humm but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:
- Engage with Tier 3 & 4 merchants: The role is primary point of contact for assigned merchants, addressing inquiries, providing product support, and delivering a high level of service.
- Proactive and reactive sales support: Handle both inbound and outbound calls/emails, responding to inquiries about humm products, campaigns, and other services.
- Promotions and Campaigns: Update merchants with approved terms, promotions, and pricing as directed by the business.
- Issue resolution: Escalate and track issues promptly, ensuring effective resolution and satisfaction for all merchant concerns.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with internal departments to meet operational goals, resolve issues, and provide consistent support. As directed by the business, the Inside Sales Consultant may occasionally provide support to wider NZ Sales activities to address capacity constraints.
- Operational executions: Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing reports, executing and planning call cycles, and proactively managing Tier 3 & 4 Business Development opportunities to drive engagement and achieve strategic objectives

We’re also looking for someone who also is/has the following skills and experience:
- B2B Sales, working with an Account Management approach, ideally within the Consumer Finance sector.
- Adept at inbound/outbound sales calls (to existing customers)
- Passionate about delivering exceptional service and building strong relationships.
- Flexible in responding to changing business needs and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Works well independently and in teams, proactively collaborating to achieve goals.
- Takes responsibility for tasks and seeks to deliver results with a proactive approach.
- Consistently meets commitments to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualified in an appropriate discipline (desirable)
