Role Interior Designer

Job Description

The interior designer role is a multifaceted role that requires creativity, originality, organisation and enthusiasm.

An interior designer should be a self-starter and highly motivated with a passion for interior design. They are also someone who can multitask and work in an organised way in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They should also demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and be incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about interior design.

Design, Administrative and Communication

• Good verbal / written communication skills
• Production of design concepts and considered design ideas
• Clearly presented and thought through design schemes
• Creating budgets in a thorough and well thought out manner
• Manage budgets and with the studio manager and director ensure we do not overspend
• The role requires an organized approach to raising purchase orders, monitoring production schedules, liaising with suppliers, research work, and assisting in the areas of interior design by putting room schemes together, surveying and drawing room/furniture layouts.
• Creating joinery drawings for pricing
• Putting together specifications and schedules in a methodical manner
• Putting together detailed information packages for finishes and fixtures
• Working with the team on installations
• Working with the team on snag lists
• Assistance in maintaining a tidy and presentable work environment and keeping internal resource libraries (i.e. samples, brochures, completed project portfolios, etc) up-to-date, complete and well organized
• Scanning in all client’s sign off on all estimates, presentation boards, samples, and drawings where necessary and saving in Livedrive

Project Management Skills

• Attend all client and site meetings with the Director, taking minutes from these meetings
• To liaise with clients on project related queries, program and installations
• To sit in, co-ordinate and take minutes to all subcontractor meetings – i.e. builders, joiners, lighting designers, AV companies, suppliers and furniture makers, to confidently hold these meetings in your lead designer’s absence if required
• Clear and carefully carried out site measures
• Tracking production of drawings and all other information required by the architects and / or contractors to make sure that deadlines are met and delays are avoided.
• Outlining the installation schedule and coordinating deliveries in accordance with that schedule.
• Adapt a problem-solving attitude and be solution driven

Maintaining a professional appearance in line with The Studio Brand Standards and acting appropriately whilst in the company of our clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €30,000.00-€35,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Dublin, County Dublin: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

• Interior design: 2 years (required)
