Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our team. As a Shipper/Receiver, you will be responsible for the shipping and receiving operations in our warehouse. This is a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials within our organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Receiving
- Assist with truck and human traffic in and out of the shop.
- Unload trucks.
- Verify condition of items upon receipt.
- Open packages.
- Verify items in package match what was ordered.
- Sort received items per sales order and stock inventory.
- Put stock items on shelves and make labelled bins as required.
- Note any discrepancies with received items and with inventory items, complete NCR’s and inform Operations Coordinator as required.
- When all items are received for an order, complete required form and advise Operations Coordinator.
- Record inbound repair information on receiving checklist.
Shipping
- Package items.
- Label pumps with serial number plates, caution labels, rotation arrows, other labels, all as detailed in the checklists and special instructions. (Print labels as required Obtain/print/prepare manuals for shipments, if require, wrap pumps).
- Complete bills of lading, as indicated on the sales order or order checklist.
- Contact carriers for pick ups, load trucks.
- When required, pick up purchased items.
Inventory Control.
- Keep inventory organized on shelves.
- Label all inventory items and bins.
- Pick items from inventory as per sales orders.
- Assist with cleaning shelves and counting inventory.
- Notify Operations Coordinator when shipping/receiving supplies inventory levels are running low.
Clerical
- Keep purchase order cabinet organized and sales orders sorted and organized.
- Meet with Operations Coordinator regarding sales order summary report.
- Take note of shipping/receiving supplies
Facility Upkeep
- Assist with facility upkeep as required on a weekly basis.
- Assist with keeping the shop clean and tidy.
- In winter months: Responsible for assisting with snow removal from the property as required to allow for truck loading and offloading. Remove snow from all entrances loading ramp and walkways around the building. Apply salt/sand to the loading dock area as required. Sweep all areas and keep the grounds clean and tidy.
- In summer months: Cut the grass, weed the beds, pick up garbage around property. Sweep all areas and keep the grounds clean and tidy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a shipper/receiver role is preferred.
- Proficient in using basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
- Ability to lift and move products, stand for extended periods, and work in a warehouse environment.
Key Competencies:
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders, documentation, and inventory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment (if applicable).
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures and freight documentation is preferred.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with carriers and our team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following company policies/procedures.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and reliability.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
