Kitchen Assistant

• Permanent, Part-time role 35 hours per fortnight

About the Role

We are looking for a kitchen assistant to join our busy kitchen, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

This role will be for 8 x 4.5 hour shifts a fortnight; hours will be 3pm to 7.30pm in Zacs café.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering meal service
• Food preparation
• Working collegially with the team of kitchen assistants and cooks
• Ensuring the kitchen is organised and maintained in accordance with personal hygiene standards and food control plan at all times.
• Customer service
• Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly and thoroughly
• Collaborate with the team to uphold a high standard of food quality and presentation

About you

On the job training will be provided however we are looking for someone with a genuine enthusiasm for food service and desire to grow in the food service industry.

You will also need the following key attributes and skills:

• A food safety certificate
• Previous food service experience
• You’re a team player and thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to the success of the team
• You understand the importance of maintaining a clean and organised space with great attention to detail.
• The ability to handle a fast-paced, ever changing kitchen environment
• Punctual and Reliable: You understand the importance of punctuality and reliability in a team setting
