Job Summary: We are seeking passionate and dedicated Kitchen Assistants / Cooks to join our culinary team at Hellenic Banquet Centre. The ideal candidates will assist the Executive Chef in preparing high-quality dishes for various events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, and special occasions. If you have a love for culinary arts and excel in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of food for banquets and events.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely meal service.
- Help in the creation and execution of menus for different events based on client specifications and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food storage and sanitation practices.
- Set up and break down cooking stations as needed for events.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering and receiving food supplies.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and mentoring of kitchen staff as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a cook or assistant chef, preferably in a banquet or catering environment.
- Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow in the kitchen.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Be available for shifts based on event schedules, which will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
- Comfortable working in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
Benefits: Negotiable Hourly Rate – based on experience / incentives
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.60 per hour

Experience:
- Cooking: 2 years (preferred)
Language:
- English (required)
Licence/Certification:
